Set foot on the surface, Captain.
For the first time, your ship isn’t the limit of the adventure. Land on any planet across the 64 systems and step onto the surface yourself — into Ruins, Wreckage zones, Mineral fields, signal sites and untouched biomes. There’s loot to recover, biology to catalogue, ore to dig, and hostiles who don’t take kindly to claim-jumpers.
🧭 Five Captain Actions
Each surface zone supports a different way to make your time pay off:
- Search ruins for ancient tech and hidden caches
- Scan signals to decode strange transmissions
- Salvage wrecked ships and abandoned outposts
- Mine surface deposits for refined materials
- Forage alien biomes for organics and rare compounds
⚔ When Negotiations Fail
Raiders and pirates patrol the surface. When they ambush you, drop into turn-based ground combat with five actions at your disposal: Fire Ranged, Melee, Cover, Tactic, and the new Stim Pack for emergency healing — up to three per engagement.
🎒 New Crafted Gear
Three new consumable lines are now craftable at any Molecular Assembler:
- Exploration Kits — restore Oxygen, Hydration and Suit Integrity on the surface
- Defence Kits — your captain’s ranged weapon in ground combat (3 tiers)
- Stim Packs — emergency mid-combat healing (4 tiers, the higher ones reserved for veteran captains)
🎯 New Skills to Train
A whole new skill tree comes alive on the surface: Ranged Accuracy, Melee, Evasion, Tactics, Captain Health, Captain Oxygen, Captain Hydration, Suit Integrity, Xenobiology, Geology, Scavenging and the parent Exploration skill — which gates the better Exploration and Defence Kits as you grow it. 🚀 How to Begin
Dock at any planet, head to the Promenade, and look for the Land on Surface option. Make sure you’ve packed an Exploration Kit and a Defence Kit before you set down — and a few Stim Packs wouldn’t hurt either.
