⚖️ Balance Change

Your weapons have had a proper overhaul, and it is time to stop thinking of a gun as just a damage number. No two weapons are the same, and from today those differences matter more than ever. Every gun is a balance of three separate things, and the biggest damage figure is only one of them.

Damage is what a single shot lands, and that is the number most captains chase. Rate of fire is how quickly a weapon readies its next shot, and it matters enormously. A gun that hits for less but fires faster can out damage a heavier, slower weapon over the course of a fight. Range is the third piece, the distance you can strike from. A long reaching weapon can open fire while a shorter ranged rival is still closing in, and that head start can decide the whole engagement.

We have rebuilt the way rate of fire works from the ground up, so every weapon now cycles on a smoother, more meaningful rhythm. Some of your guns will fire a little faster than before, others a little slower, and that is entirely by design. Two weapons showing the very same damage can now perform very differently once you factor in how fast they fire and how far they reach.

To help you weigh it all up we have added a clearer view in the Item Database. Open the Combat Weapons tab and you will now see each weapon’s Damage, its Rate of Fire, and its true damage per second sitting side by side, so you can compare guns properly at a glance. Take a moment to look over your current loadout with fresh eyes.

The gun you always reached for may no longer be the sharpest tool for the job, and a weapon you once overlooked might just surprise you!
