🔧 Bug Fix
- Refining and R&D icons are now consistent across the whole game. Refining had drifted into several different symbols (Navigation Console, Information Center, the Refining Centre and the Lexicon) — they all now use the same microscope icon. R&D has been tidied up the same way: the Navigation Console, Galaxy Map and service listings now use the flask icon, matching the Information Center. Both are far easier to spot at a glance no matter where you look.
- Thanks to a sharp-eyed player report, we’ve fixed a bug in how Threat behaves while docked. Threat is meant to cool down the whole time you’re docked at a station — but in a couple of edge cases it wasn’t behaving correctly, either continuing when it shouldn’t or stopping early when stepping into a station office. Docking now works consistently: your Threat reduces properly for as long as you’re docked (including while browsing offices and services) and resumes its normal behaviour the moment you undock and head back out into open space. Our thanks to the player who flagged it!
✨ Improvement
- Pirates really don’t take kindly to you killing their friends — and now they’ll hold that grudge when you raid their hideouts, too. Until now, tearing through a Pirate Hideout in a lawless system stirred up no extra heat, an oversight we’ve put right. Clearing out a hideout’s defenders now steadily raises your Threat in that system (the more you cut down, the angrier the locals get), and slipping away afterwards is no longer guaranteed to be quiet — a riled-up pirate network may just send a welcome party as you leave. As always, this only applies in lawless space; safe systems stay perfectly calm.
🚀 New Feature
- Pirate Derelicts now stick around! Previously, clearing out a Pirate Hideout turned it into a salvageable derelict — but the moment you left to empty your hold, the whole thing (and all its loot) vanished, forcing you to strip it bare in one frantic sitting. That has been completely reworked.
- A cleared hideout now becomes a persistent Pirate Derelict that stays put until it has been fully salvaged. Take what you can carry, fly off to unload, and come straight back to pick up exactly where you left off — the derelict and its remaining loot are waiting for you. It is open to everyone, too: any pilot can salvage a derelict, and it only crumbles away for good once the very last of its materials has been stripped out.
- To help you find your way back, derelicts now remain listed on your Pirate Intelligence board, marked ‘Salvageable’ instead of a pirate count, and the location info panel updates the instant you clear a hideout — swapping its ‘Clear Hideout’ button for ‘Salvage Derelict’ so you know at a glance it is ready to be picked clean. No more rushed one-sitting salvage runs — strip those wrecks dry at your own pace.
