Chat Panel

This post relates to the in game Chat Panel. The chat itself can be minimised and will sit back into the screen under the Chat Icon. If any public chat is posted, and you have the Chat panel minimised, it will cause the chat icon to pulse a red colour. Opening the chat panel resets the notification.

The public Tab is exactly what it says, this is chat from the main game that anyone can view and take part in. It has a timestamp, which is the game server time. You can see from the image that there are a number of other tabs. Whilst this is still early days, we looked to give you a selection of communication paths.

Private Messages – We choose to use the /tell – select player name By typing /tell and starting to type a captain’s name, the game will show you a list of captains to contact. Saving you miss typing their name. You need to ‘select’ the name and then continue with your message. This message will be sent to the player, and you can review these messages from the ‘Private Messages’ tab, but can be started from the Public channel.

If you have been sent a private message, it will appear in the ‘Private Messages Tab’ and you can reply to the player by typing /r and then the text you wish to convey.

There are other Tabs. The Action Tab will list certain actions like Taking Ashar Missions and delivering them. We will add to the ‘Actions’ as we progress, but if you spot an action that’s missing, let us know via the discord channel.

The Comms Channel tab is used primarily for Combat messages. Destroying enemy ships and looting resources.

These tabs and the use of /tell /r are a work in progress, and we may well make some changes over time.
