Chat Panel

Yesterday, I pushed the NEW Combat co-op screen to the Hideout combat. If you have not been trying out Lawless mining, this may be a big surprise. Give it time, get used to the changes and rag a friend or Alt into the Hideouts and start to work together.

If you have comments or suggestions or even Bug reports, pop them into Discord (button on the top element of the Chat.

New Chat
It was on my list to update, and I think it was Tinman who asked about it. So I moved it to the top of my list. The chat has been given a whole new revamp. All that clutter from Public chat has moved to its own New and Events tab. That’s also where the weekend shouts will be processed.

Move – Resize: First off, the chat is movable and resizable! So those who wish to use it can move it, resize it to be useful.

We have a few new icons at the top, Friends list and Reset, plus the Help icon is now relevant to the changes.

Friends list: This is where you can add friends and invite them to private chats or add them to Squad chats. Friends can be added and removed. The panel snaps to the right of the chat box based on how you resize it. Click the friends button again to minimise it.

Click Player Name: You can also click a player’s name in the main public chat, and receive a context menu. This is how you can add friends or invite to chats and squads if you wish.

Private Chats: You can now invite other players to private chats. These remember the chats you’ve had with players.

Squad Chats: You can invite multiple players to a Squad Chat and for a group that way. These chats are not stored, so when you come back and form a new Squad, the chat will be empty. Remember, you can move and resize the chat ,so playing with others in Combat now has a new element.

New Feature

  • Chat panel is now draggable and resizable with edge/corner handles — position and size persist across sessions
News tab added — ISN News, event outcomes, and shoutout announcements moved out of Public chat
Private message tabs — click any player name to open a dedicated PM conversation tab with unread pulse notifications

Friends list panel — toggle from the chat header, search players, see online/offline status, quick chat and squad invite
Squad system — invite friends or players to a session-only squad with real-time group chat (dissolves when leader leaves)

Enhancement
